The number of jobs in Scotland decreased significantly by 45% in June compared to March with the decreases felt across all key sectors. Application per vacancy numbers remained steady but fell in the majority of cases with the notable exceptions of logistics, distribution & supply chain and sales. Average permanent salaries did, however, rise in most industry sectors to help meet the rising cost of living. Pay increases will struggle to mitigate inflation, though, which hit a record 40 year high in May.
